Chief Commissioner of Victoria Police Mike Bush said parents should not be blamed for the crimes of their wayward children.

3AW Mornings host Tom Elliott disagreed with this sentiment, and suggested parents should bear some of the responsibility or cost for their children’s crimes.

“Frankly, the way a child behaves is partly, not completely, but partly a function of how they are brought up by their parents,” he said.
