Number-plate cloning has become a huge issue in Victoria, with criminals copying legitimate registration plates and using them on other vehicles to avoid detection while committing offences.

3AW Drive host Jacqui Felgate was sent footage showing a man in Carlton unscrewing and stealing number plates in broad daylight.

“How embarrassing for us all,” Felgate said on 3AW Drive.
