Premier Ben Carroll has committed to filling 500,000 potholes across Victoria by January 2027.

Age regional editor Benjamin Preiss compared the condition of Victorian roads with roads in New South Wales, specifically focusing on the number of potholes in each state.

Mr Preiss told 3AW Mornings host Tom Elliott Victoria did not fare well compared with NSW.

“It was well over double the number in Victoria than [in] NSW,” he said.
