Angus Taylor reveals new proposal to destroy illicit tobacco trade
The federal opposition plans to slash the tobacco excise by 80 per cent and legalise vapes and nicotine pouches in a push to evaporate the black market.
Federal Liberal Party leader Angus Taylor told 3AW Mornings host Tom Elliott that lowering the excise and increasing law enforcement would smother the illicit tobacco trade.

“Take the profits out, take the customers out and then smash the remainder of what’s left with additional law enforcement, both state and federal,” he said.
