A woman has died and multiple people have been injured after a serious bus crash in the Yarra Ranges.

It’s understood a tour bus collided with a number of other vehicles on the Melba Highway near Two Hills Road at Glenburn.

“It will impact a lot of people, the detour isn’t easy,” Chris Miller from the Department of Transport told Shane McInnes on 3AW Drive.

As many as 21 patients have been assessed by paramedics.

A teenage male has been flown to The Alfred in a serious condition with upper body injuries.

A man in his 50s is being taken to hospital in a serious condition and a teenage girl is in a stable condition.

16 other patients did not require further treatment.
