As predicted, the Reserve Bank of Australia lifted the official cash rate to 4.85 per cent, the highest level in 18 years, and the fifth rate rise this year.

3AW host Shane McInnes calculated what the latest rise meant for Australians, and prominent businessman Mark Bouris didn’t hold back on his thoughts about the latest news.

“I’m a bit angry on behalf of Australians, this is not fair,” Bouris said on 3AW Drive.

“I think this is one of the worst economic environments we’ve seen for a hell of a long time, Australians are going to start losing their jobs.”

“Get back here, Australia is burning,” Bouris said about Albanese.

“Don’t know how many Australians will take those comments from the Treasurer today,” McInnes said.
