A group of parents at a Melbourne primary school have banded together seeking the option to opt their children out of a state curriculum topic in Prep.

Parent Courtney told 3AW Mornings host Tom Elliott that parents should have the option to opt their child out of topics they believe to be “inappropriate”.

Press PLAY to hear her explain why she thinks parents should have the right to opt out of certain topics

“This is a really big problem when it comes to teaching young girls about consent and female consent about males in their spaces, and we’re planting that idea at age five,” she said.
