A dramatic eight-hour siege has ended in the arrest of a Rosebud man this morning.

It’s believed the siege was related to a fatal shooting in Rosebud on Sunday.

The man was holed-up in the Ocean Street house since police arrived to question him about 10pm yesterday.

The situation wasn’t resolved until shortly after 6.30am Tuesday morning.

Detective Inspector Mick Hughes says the suspect suffered a dog bite to the leg during his arrest.

The suspect’s mother, his three siblings aged 10 to 14 and his partner were able to leave unharmed overnight.

On Sunday, a Mount Waverley man was shot in the head after enjoying a Father’s Day lunch with his parents.

Police say the victim, 31, who was known to police, was shot in a targeted attack at Rosebud.

The man was found wounded in the passenger seat of a green Mitsubishi 4WD on Eastbourne Road.

He died in hospital yesterday.
