Shopping centre nannies could be coming to Melbourne
Parents could soon be able to book in a nanny to accompany them on stressful shopping trips.
Two shopping centres in Queensland and New South Wales are already offering the free nanny service, and now there’s plans to bring it to Melbourne to a Moonee Ponds shopping centre.
One of the creators, Teresa Giuffrida, Group General Manager of Innovation at Mirvac, told Neil Mitchell the nannies were a hit.
“Customers can choose to leave their little ones with an experienced nanny for up to two hours in a dedicated play area we call a nanny station,” she said.
“Or if they prefer customers can have the nanny accompany them while they shop.
“Mums are saying it’s a real game-changer.
“It can be very daunting as a new mum going into a shopping centre so now we’ve got an extra pair of hands to help.”
