The Greens are pushing for every car on the road to be electric.

Victorian Greens leader Samantha Ratnam told Tom Elliott the transition to a renewable energy economy is overdue.

“Transport is one of the biggest emitters of carbon pollution, so we have to tackle it seriously,” Cr Ratnam said.

Cr Ratnam said the research has shown we can handle the extra demand on the electricity grid.
