Lord Sebastian Coe is not surprised at the sportsmanship showed by three Australian athletes.

On Monday, three Australian runners waited at the finish line until the final runner completed the women’s 10,000m.

The four-time Olympic medallist told Tom Elliott it’s consistent with his previous experiences in Oceania.

“I spend a lot of time with the Oceania Track and Field Federation,” Lord Coe said.

“There’s a commonality, an emotional connect in this part of the world that I rarely witness in other areas.”
