Nic Naitanui has been rubbed out for one week for his tackle on Port Adelaide’s Karl Amon.

The 28-year-old will be unavailable for West Coast’s clash against GWS on Saturday afternoon after his appeal was upheld by the AFL Tribunal on Wednesday night.

But AFL legend Matthew Richardson said he “couldn’t believe” Naitanui was even sighted by Match Review Officer Michael Christian.

“We are asking players to think far too much now,” Richo told Sportsday.

“I just think we’re making it far too hard for them.”
