A suspected serial killer who is believed to be responsible for three murders in South Australia is now living in Victoria.

As reported in today’s Herald Sun, the man suspected of the murders, which date back to 1998, is living in the Sunraysia region.

Phyllis Harrison, 71, was found stabbed to death at her ransacked home in northern Adelaide’s in 1998 and 64-year-old Beverley Hanley was killed more than a decade later in 2010 from head injuries.

In 2011, the decomposing body of Stephen Newton, 55, was found in his Mt Gambier home with a range of items stolen.

Des Bray, South Australia Police Detective Superintendent, told Ross and John a fresh investigation into the cold cases has begun.

“All horrific crimes and extreme levels of violence,” Mr Bray said.

“We’ve identified the suspect is involved with all of them.

“We have some evidence, but we need some more.

“He shifted there (northern Victoria) some time ago, we’ve been speaking to local police and provided details about his past.

“He is a violent man.”
