Man charged and bailed after allegedly fleeing scene of Little River crash
A man has been charged and bailed following an alleged hit-run in Little River this morning, where police claim he fled the scene of the accident.
Police received reports a Holden Astra was allegedly being driven at speed before slamming into the back of another car, causing it to spin and hitting the wire barrier Melbourne bound on the Princes Freeway shortly before 6am.
The woman, aged in her 50s, was treated at the scene.
The driver of the Holden Astra allegedly fled on foot, running across traffic.
Police eventually caught up with him three kilometres way.
The 34-year-old Hamlyn Heights man has been charged with a range of offences including reckless conduct endangering life, careless driving, drive manner dangerous speeding, fail to stop after collision, fail to render assistance after collision, unlicensed driving and refuse to undergo preliminary oral fluid test.
He has been bailed to appear at Werribee Magistrates’ Court on 9 January next year.
