A fundraiser has been started to help the unofficial sheriff of Walhalla get back on his feet after fire destroyed his home.

Colin Sinclair fled on Sunday as the 8000 hectare fire approached his Maiden Town home.

Now he’s lost everything except his dog, his medication and breathing machine.
