Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway are not to blame for what was the greatest mix-up in Oscars history.

Beatty and Dunaway wrongly announced La La Land as the winner of the ‘Best Picture’ award instead of Moonlight, after mistakenly being given the wrong envelope.

Speaking to Ross and John, entertainment reporter Peter Ford said it was an Oscars moment nobody will ever forget.

‘In the end it was just simple human error at the very last minute that brought the whole thing unstuck.’ he said.

Accounting firm Pricewaterhouse Cooper, who is responsible for counting the votes and providing the envelopes, have taken responsibility for the blunder.
