The City of Melbourne is looking for an emblematic species, and Ross and John want to know what it should be.

The long-eared bat?

The white skink?

The Pobblebonk frog?

Patrick Honan, manager of live exhibits at Museum Victoria, said he thinks it should be the Greengrocer Cicada.

‘It’s very much a Victorian species,’ he said.
