“A breath of fresh air”: Aussie fans excited by female Dr Who

Actor Jodie Whittaker’s portrayal of Dr Who premiered overnight, with Australian fans excited at the prospect of a female Doctor.

President of the Dr Who Club of Australia, Lauren Davis told Tom Elliott after so many years of male doctors, this could reinvigorate the show.

“I think it’ll be a breath of fresh air for the program,” Lauren said.

“Not to say there was anything wrong with it being a man, this could just be quite exciting.

“Peter Capaldi was very different from his predecessor (Matt White) as well.

“This is as big a change as that.”
