A 12-year-old boy and his friend have been threatened and robbed by a gang of youths in Melbourne’s outer-west.

The boy’s father, Jeremy, says a group of youths aged 15 to 16 surrounded his son and his friend near a shopping centre on the weekend.

“They demanded they hand over their phones and their money otherwise they’d bash them,” Jeremy said.

His son’s friend was held in a headlock while the thugs demanded their phones and cash.

“My son handed over five dollars, he said that’s all he had.”

Later that afternoon, two members of gang were spotted at a fast food restaurant and were confronted by Jeremy’s wife, she demanded they return the stolen money.

He said his son won’t be going to school today, only last month he was kicked in the head by an older student.

“They have no shame. No fear,” Jeremy told Ross and John.

“He’s just a kid. He’s just a little kid doing his thing.”

Jeremy said the youths have been reported to police.
