Well, 17th April is World Malbec Day, probably a more popular thing in Argentina in the past, but the team at Bottle Shop Concepts are doing their best to make it an Aussie tradition. Head to the Meat Market where $40 will get you an early ticket that covers ALL tastings (no bloody queues for tokens) and there’ll be food for sale on the day (plus the annual ‘Golden Empanada’ competition).

DO YOUR BLOCK: There’ll be a block party in Preston next Saturday arvo and evening. With plenty of food trucks, a pop-up barber and drinks from the team at Barry’s Bar. Entry is free, BYO appetite. 518 High Street Preston.

TEA FOR BAE: Got some more discerning kids bored during the school holiday, well The Langham has the perfect way for you to impress your tweens – Designer Teen High Teas. Available for three sittings weekdays until Friday April 14, with delicacies like handcrafted gold donuts, pretty in pink macarons and rose meringues, all served with rose floral lemonade.
