KEEP ON TRUCKIN’
Don’t forget all the great al-fresco dining options around Melbourne in the form of food trucks. Some of the newer options are a fabulous venue called ‘Welcome to Thornbury’ in the north, and out west you’ll find them by the water in Williamstown at Seaworks.
HOLA ST KILDA
I reviewed Peruvian/Latin American newcomer Lady Carolina yesterday and next week I’m off to check out another Peruvian place in ‘Harley House Picanteria’ down in St Kilda. I’ll be doing a Pisco tasting with ‘The Pisco People’ – it’s a liquor claimed by both Chile and Peru – and it’s fabulous in cocktails.
BWEWEWY WEDNESDAYS
Why not? Beer DeLuxe Fed Square’s iconic beer garden will be transformed into the ultimate brewer’s playground every Wednesday over summer in what they are dubbing the The Summer Hop Up. Starting November 18th, Beer DeLuxe will host different brewers and food trucks each week in one very long festival dedicated to beer. 5pm till late, entry is free and the beer will be flowing.
TOURING TASSIE
And finally next week I will be heading down to Tassie to do some exploring. Starting off with the Effervescence Tasmania sparking wine festival at Josef Chromy, I’ll head down the stunning east coast to Freycinet and Bruny Island, and finish up in Hobart. Any tips for the trip gratefully received – feast@3aw.com.au
