A Moveable Feast: Kate’s ‘This Week In Food’
WHO IS RUFUS: I made Ross’ week this week when I sent him a link to a new bar inspired by Winston Churchill. Rufus is in Greville Street, Prahran, and it shamelessly boasts a tribute to Churchill’s love of good food and booze. It’s table service, there are chandeliers and plush velvet chairs, the waiters are dressed as butlers, and your drinks and food appear from behind closed doors. PS: Rufus was the British PM’s dog. www.rufusbar.com.au
SI SI: First ever Italian Wine and Food Festival is taking place TOMORROW (Sunday May 29) at the Royal Exhibition Buildings. Huge program, and who doesn’t love all things Italian? www.italianwinefoodfestival.com.au
ARRRRRBORY: It’s not all ‘BRRRRRR’ at the Arbory over winter. Tried a few of their new winter menu items on Monday night, and believe it or not, although the platform-side bar at Flinders Street station is an outside operation, there are heater’s a plenty and that view just doesn’t get any more inspiring. www.arbory.com.au
FEELING DUCKY, PUNK: Speaking of duck, Paladarr Thai restaurant in Alphington is actually teaming up with Luv-a-Duck to host a series of exclusive cooking classes focused on preparing five rich and vibrant Thai dishes. They’ll take place each Sunday morning through June and July – more info at www.paladarr.com.au
