THIS WEEK IN FOOD

SPARKLING STREET FOOD
What can’t Italy do? I’ll tell you what they can do – gorgeous prosecco, and lip-smacking street food. So why not combine the two? Well you can, in a special dinner being put on by the Prosecco Queen, Mel Brauer, and Italian cookbook author and blogger Paola Bacchia. It’ll be held at GG’s in East Melbourne on Friday 24th Feb, and $95 will get you a range of Italian antipasto and street food dishes paired with six proseccos.

‘STRAYAN STEAK SANGAS
?In order to celebrate Australia Day the team at Empire Steak have designed a special Aussie steak sandwich called, of course, ‘The Duncan’. It’s got 100% grassfed steak, butter lettuce, tasty cheese and a special Vegemite mayo on your choice of white or multi-grain bread. What’s better, they’ll be handed out for FREE from 12pm until 2pm on Australia Day eve (Wednesday, 25th January) from their 61 Little Collins Street, Melbourne city store.

Ruyi is Scorcher

Ruyi is Scorcher’s favourite Chinese restaurant.

RUYI THE DAY
Scorchy’s favourite Chinese restaurant is putting on a special menu over two nights for Chinese New Year. Ruyi is offering four courses (six dishes) with the option of matching wines, in their funky, modern, city Chinese restaurant. There’ll be two sittings on both Friday 27th and Saturday 28th January, with the second sitting boasting a lion dance and firecracker performance.
