A Moveable Feast: This Week In Food
New Vietnamese eatery Annam in the city is now open for lunch weekdays from 12-2.30pm. They’re doing an “Office Rice”, which is a literal translation from Com Van Phong – which are the express business lunches in Vietnam. It’s an $18 special and will change regularly … thus far they’ve had dishes like bo luc lac – known as shaking beef, which is a savoury/sweet beef stir fry; or Hainanese chicken rice. www.annam.com.au
It’s been a Looooong Time for Longsong but it is FINALLY open just above Longrain in the city. David Moyle is in charge, he formerly of Franklin fame in Tassie, and it sounds like an absolute cracker. They’re calling it “a great bar with good food”, the food is Thai and we’re talking plenty of wood-grilled skewers, spicy salads and bar snacks. http://www.longsong.com.au
Oui Oui! The Paris to Provence French festival pop up village will return to Como House form Friday November 24 to Sunday November 26. As usual, there’ll be all the French food and French champagne you could ever want, plus this year they’re paying tribute to Coco Chanel with a unique exhibition in Como House’s Boudoir, Grand Ballroom and Billiards room.
