A number of dead eels have washed up on the Yarra

A large number of dead eels have washed up on the Yarra around Hawthorn in the last week. 

According to Yarra River Keeper Andrew Kelly, litter traps and artificial pesticides are a real concern for one of the most robust inhabitants of the River.

Andrew told Ross and John until the EPA tests the water, it will not be clear what has killed the eels.
