A tip (and warning) for those trying to donate to charity op shops

Donation bins and recycling hubs across Melbourne have been turned into disgusting dumping grounds, with Australia’s leading clothing recycling company warning people it’s illegal to leave items outside a closed charity store or next to a full charity bin.

“It’s actually a crime and you can be fined for it,” Alexis Todorovski, National Executive at SCR Group, told 3AW on Monday.

“And I’m sure nobody wants to receive a hefty fine for trying to do the right thing.”
