A Victorian teacher shares his observations from 58 YEARS in the profession

rumour confirmed

RUMOUR CONFIRMED

A few weeks ago the Rumour File heard a teacher had spotted a well-dressed older gentleman spotted wandering around a playground before school.

Out of concern for the man, a teacher approached and asked the man if he needed any help, and they were surprised by his answer.

The man was 75-year-old Gary Pearl.

He’s a substitute teacher who’s been working in the profession since he was 17.

He says kids haven’t changed much in his 58 years as a teacher.

“Children are just as curious and just as passionate as they always have been,” Mr Pearl told Ross and Russel.

“I’m having a ball. Children are very curious and they have a passion for learning and discovery, and I like to be a facilitator of that.”
