A woman arrested after she hit a cyclist and fled in Wendouree last Friday

A woman has been arrested after she hit a cyclist with her car in Wendouree last week.

The 23-year-old Mount Pleasant woman was arrested today around 1.30pm in Altona North.

The victim of the hit run is Christian Ashby, a 36 year old father of 2. 

He was on an early-morning bike ride around Lake Wendouree on Friday when the female driver hit him head on. 

Christian suffered life threatening injuries and was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital where he remains in a serious condition.
