A woman has died in Craigieburn after her car rolled back onto her

Tom Elliott

WORD ON THE STREET

Victoria Police are investigating a fatal crash at Craigieburn this afternoon.

Tom Elliott heard from a listener that a person had been trapped under a car.

Police confirmed the sad news shortly after.

It’s understood the driver of a car was reversing from a Barnell Street driveway about 2.30pm.

The car is believed to have struck a water meter, and as the driver got out to investigate the car rolled backwards onto her.

The 32-year-old Craigieburn woman died at the scene.

Two young children, aged 7 and 4, were in the car at the time and were not injured.

The 7-year-old boy got out of the car and ran inside and rang his dad.

Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
