Abbott achievements need to be congratulated: Liberal MP Frydenberg
Liberal MP Josh Frydenberg has praised Tony Abbott’s record as Prime Minister despite Malcolm Turnbull’s successful leadership challenge.
Mr Frydenberg told Neil Mitchell he would continue to ‘defend Mr Abbott’s legacy’.
‘Tony Abbott does need to be congratulated for his achievements in office, particularly his three free trade agreements, his record infrastructure spending, his job creation of more than 300,000 jobs, and his stopping the boats,’ Mr Frydenberg said on Tuesday.
‘We hadn’t communicated our policy achievements and priorities for reform well enough.’
Mr Frydenberg described the new Prime Minister as ‘extremely capable’.
