ABS tells same-sex marriage voters to stop posting photos online
The Australian Bureau of Statistics is warning people against posting pictures online that show the barcode on their same-sex marriage survey forms.
Many people who’ve already cast their vote have put photographs of their ballot on social media.
But the ABS says that opens the system to fraud.
There’s a risk the barcode could be replicated, and a fake vote submitted before the genuine one arrives.
