A victim of a nasty smash on the Princes Highway earlier in June says he’s mystified by the lack of action from the Department of Transport since the incident.

All Melbourne-bound lanes of the freeway were closed on June 11 following multiple crashes as a result of bungled road maintenance on a road expansion joint.

Paul told Jacqui Felgate he still doesn’t have his car back and has yet to be given any answers from insurers.

“It’s been very frustrating,” he said on 3AW Drive.

“They still haven’t claimed responsibility, and I’m still deemed an at-fault driver. It’s been an absolute s–t show.”

In a statement released to 3AW, a Department of Transport spokesperson said work is continuing with affected drivers on compension.

“We said that every driver whose vehicle was damaged in last week’s Princes Freeway incident will be compensated, and that’s exactly what we’re doing,” the statement reads.
