ACCC expects price hike in fuel

Motorists, you’ve been warned.

The ACCC is telling you to fill up now.

Rod Sims, chairman of the consumer watchdog, told 3AW Drive it expected a spike in petrol costs.

He said rising wholesale fuel prices were about to meet a declining retail price and that was likely to mean a price hike at the bowser.

‘That’s why we’re saying buy now,’ he explained on 3AW Drive.
