ACCC launches legal action against Google

The consumer watchdog has launched federal court action against tech giant Google.

The ACCC alleges the company breached Australian consumer law by collecting personal location data from mobile phones and tablets without people knowing.

It’s alleged even when a person switched off their location history, Google was still able to track them if they hadn’t turned off their location through the web and app activity.
