Accounting firm rolls out a nine day fortnight work structure
A Sydney-based finance firm, Grant Thornton, has permanently implemented a nine day fortnight work structure after a successful 12-month trial.
Chief marketing officer & industry, Fraser McNaughton, says the idea to overhaul a 40-hour week came after COVID-19 left its employees ‘shattered’.
“It just wasn’t sustainable … and it didn’t fit the values we had at our firm,” he told Tony Moclair.

“75 per cent of our people are using recharge time every month,” he said.
Mr McNaughton says Grant Thornton maintains its client-first approach and will remain open five days a week.
