The much anticipated release of the feature film Jasper Jones is about to hit screens.

Adapted from the award winning novel by Craig Silvey, Jasper Jones is a coming of age story about a 14 year old boy called Charlie Bucktin.

The film features a star studded cast including Toni Collette, Hugo Weaving and Dan Willey.

Speaking on 3AW Afternoons, Wiley, who plays Charlie’s father Wes Bucktin, told Denis Walter it was important the story was made into a movie.

‘It’s a rollicking good story first and foremost, the messages behind it are about sticking to a sense of self, the humanity of the individual, they’re the human truths that are in it.’

Jasper Jones hits all major cinemas on Thursday 2nd March.
