Adelaide aiming to plug the leaks

Sam Jacobs says Adelaide needs to improve its defence if it wants to take the next step up the ladder.

The Crow ruckman told Sports Today the Crows were ‘found out’ defensively in their semifinal loss to Hawthorn.

‘It was no secret around the league that we did leak a little bit at times,’ Jacobs said on Friday.

‘If we want to compete with Hawthorn and be a consistent, Top 4 team, it’s something we need to fix.’

Jacobs also said experienced players Nathan van Berlo and David Mackay have returned to pre-season in excellent condition.
