Adorable new arrival at Werribee Open Range Zoo

Tony Moclair

There is an adorable new arrival at Werribee Open Range Zoo.

Zebra Furaha gave birth to the female foal on Mother’s Day, just two years after undergoing extensive medical treatment for a life-threatening malignant tumour on her leg.

It’s her first baby.

Mum and foal are absolutely melting the hearts of all the keepers.

“She’s a very protective mum. She’s looking after little Falah better than anyone could have imagined,” Savannah keeper Lauren Irving told Dee Dee.

“Seeing the progress that she has made, I can’t even put words to it.”
