AFL boss will be ‘incredibly disappointed’ if Bachar Houli is booed

AFL boss Gillon McLachlan has hit out at suggestions Bachar Houli could be booed once he returns from suspension, branding it “complete rubbish.”
Houli has dominated footy headlines this week after he was controversially handed a two-game suspension for a hit that left Carlton’s Jed Lamb concussed.
That penalty was doubled to four games on appeal on Thursday night.
There are suggestions fans will boo Houli once he returns to the field in protest of the initial suspension.
However, speaking with Neil Mitchell, McLachlan said there was no reason for fans to take their anger out on the Richmond player.
“It’s complete rubbish,” McLachlan said on 3AW.
“I’ll be incredibly disappointed if that happened.
“The decision to get two games had nothing to do with Bachar.”
McLachlan said he felt four games was the “right” penalty.
