AFL club offers to give some struggling juniors a helping hand!

Remember the Balnarring under-10s?

On Wednesday, Neil Mitchell spoke with their coach, Matt Keogh, who explained why the kids were having such a rough time this season.

They’re regularly on the end of 20+ goal defeats, with the opposition kids often rubbing it in, too.

It’s left a few of them disheartened about their footy.

But the St Kilda Football Club wants to change that.

“We’d love to get a couple of Saints boys down there and hopefully brighten up their day,” Saints CEO Matt Finnis said on 3AW Mornings.

“I’ve got a young fella who plays under-10s myself and while you don’t keep score, it seems kids are pretty good at maths these days and they can be pretty brutal.

“I know what it’s like and I also know what it’s like when they also get a chance to meet their heroes.”
