AFL legend Jimmy Bartel announces his retirement from the game

Geelong legend Jimmy Bartel has announced his retirement.

The club and Bartel mutually agreed to the terms of the champion midfielder’s departure. 

Bartel has 305 games under his belt as well as three premierships, a Brownlow medal, the Norm Smith medal and the Jim Stynes award for community service played over 15 seasons. 

The Geelong Football Club released a statement on Wednesday afternoon.
