AFL remains in discussions with Barassi family over plans to honour football great
AFL CEO Andrew Dillon has confirmed the league remains in ongoing discussions on how best to honour football icon Ron Barassi.
Barassi passed away in September and was farewelled at a state memorial service at the MCG on Friday.
“There have been a number of discussions and things that have been spoken about (to honour Ron Barassi),” he told Neil Mitchell on 3AW Mornings.

“We will continue to talk with the (Barassi) family, he is a legend of the game so want to make sure we have an honour that is befitting of that status.”
Dillon also commented on Thursday’s decision from the Supreme Court, which saw the Western Bulldogs ordered to pay $5.9 million in damages to sex abuse victim Adam Kneale.
