After news young GWS star Josh Kelly has been offered a nine-year $9 million contract by North Melbourne, the Giants have managed to lock in a key player.

Following the signatures of Jonathon Patton, Adam Tomlinson and Zac Williams, Dylan Shiel has now signed a two-year deal.

Speaking to Sportsday, Dylan says success comes before pay.

‘It’s not like we sit around the change rooms talking about sticking together and taking a pay cut.

‘I think we have a clear understanding we are in it for the team success, and what comes with that is some guys have to take a pay cut,’ Dylan says.

After losing by a goal in the semi-finals last year to the eventual premiers the Western Bulldogs, Dylan says people should be congratulated for how far the team has come.

‘We good a really good footy club at the Giants, and a lot of credit goes to the people who were originally there in setting up the club.’
