Aged care advocates concerned by latest visitation rules

Tom Elliott

Aged care advocates have expressed concern over news unvaccinated people can visit facilities from today.

Five people are able to visit a resident in aged care per day.

There is no requirement for them to be vaccinated.

“We find it quite bizarre that you need to be vaccinated to have a hair cut, or play tennis in Melbourne, but you don’t need it to visit vulnerable older people,” Paul Sadler, CEO of Aged and Community Services Australia, told Neil Mitchell on Friday.
