Airbnb booking blocked after police tip-off, teens turn up anyway and break into house

Five people have smashed their way into a Williamstown house after an Airbnb booking at the property was cancelled following a tip-off to police.

3AW Breakfast was alerted to the incident, which occurred at the weekend.

The booking was made, however, it became clear the property was booked fraudulently and police contacted the managers of the accommodation to cancel the booking.

It’s understood locks to the property were then changed.

However, this did not stop a group from turning up and forcing their way into the house at 4.30am.

Police then arrived, however, nobody was inside the house.

There were no signs of damage to the property.

The investigation remains ongoing.
