Airport boss calls for urgent clarity and consistency on travel rules
Melbourne Airport boss Lyell Strambi has called for urgent clarity and consistency across Australia when it comes to air travel.
He said Victoria was six weeks behind NSW and it could ultimately lead to cash-strapped airlines prioritising flights in and out of Sydney, even once restrictions ease significantly here.
Mr Strambi said he wasn’t surprised plenty of people had no idea where they were able to travel and when, and under what restrictions.
“It’s so confusing, honestly,” he told Neil Mitchell.
“I’m in the industry and find it confusing.
“I just can’t imagine what it’s like for the poor passengers.”
