Prices have begun to go up this financial year with energy, gas and council fees all up.

Energy specialist and manager of policy and research at St Vincent De Paul, Gavin Duffy, says people no longer have the resources to fall back on with the rising cost of living.

“… Interest rates are rolling through and post-Easter we’ve seen a big uptick in people that are coming seeking assistance, we’re back to levels pre-COVID, I think the big kicker in there is we’re seeing a big new group coming through and that is those wage and salary movements,” he told Tom Elliott, filling in for Neil Mitchell.
