The Albanese government has unveiled its changes to superannuation in Australia, a move it says will eventually deliver more than two billion dollars a year into budget coffers.

It’s claimed the new rules will impact around 80,000 people from July 1, 2025.

“I hope this is the end of them fiddling with it,” Tom Elliott said in response.

Shane Oliver, AMP’s chief economist, told 3AW Drive while it didn’t impact a lot of people, it may send a concerning message to the wider community about superannuation.

“It does have an impact on confidence,” he said.
