Albo accuses Dutton of living in a ‘fantasy land’ after Trump’s tariffs announcement

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has accused federal opposition leader Peter Dutton of living in a “fantasy land” after Donald Trump’s tariffs announcement today.

The US President denied Australia an exemption from steel and aluminium tariffs, with Dutton claiming he could’ve gotten a deal done if he was in power.

“It’s just one bit of evidence that Peter Dutton lives in some sort of fantasy land,” Albanese said on 3AW Drive.

“The fact is that no other country has succeeded on steel or aluminium tariffs,” the Prime Minister said.

“It’s about time that he took an opportunity just once, to back Australia rather than talk us down,” he said about Dutton.
