Amazon arriving in Australia, with ‘Myer in their sights’

Retail giant Amazon is set to launch in Australia within days, with local heavyweights in their sights.

The world’s biggest internet company has kept quiet about when it will launch in Australia and with what products, but it’s expected to reveal more as early as this week.

It’s also unclear what Amazon Australia will sell Down Under, but it’s expected to include house brands and selected big names.

Retail expert Barry Urquhart, from Marketing Focus, says Amazon will turn Australian retail on it’s head.

“I think Myer is right in their sights,” he told Ross and John.
